Abhishek Gupta

The winner of the Air France International Young Fashion Designers Award and a finalist in the Smirnoff International Design Contest was the proud recipient of the title 'Breakthrough Designer 2004' at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards in Goa.

The designer studied at NIFT and in an attempt to engineer his outfits for a better fit, has works very closely with his tailors and craftsmen to achieve an uncompromising finish as he pays great attention to cut and structure and his clothes portray a freshness of perspective, simple lines and assiduous detail.

He likes to create textures on fabric using traditional and modem techniques to achieve a look that is unique and contemporary; whereas his garments are not aimed at the masses, but for the man who is intense, one who doesn't like to go with the flow, and largely does his own thing.

Abhishek Gupta creates for the man who's intense, doesn't like to go with the flow, and largely does his own thing and his collection was about conveying an attitude of being off-center and raw edginess.

The creations comprising cheeky T shirts with an understated sense of humour, suits that weren't quite serious, sporty jackets, and exquisite modern sherwanis.
