The winner at the prestigious international competition for young designers called 'CIAE International Fashion Awards' in the first year of college in 2000,
Amit Gupta launched his own prêt label called 'Senses by Amit GT' in January 2003.
The label 'Amit GT' is one umbrella for all his prêt, diffusion and couture lines and has been doing menswear ever since the inception of his label. He has also forayed into women's wear and launched the collection at Asia Fashion Week 2005 held in Singapore.
Following the good response and appreciation being received from fashion world, the designer has widen his retail base through corporate tie-ups and franchise arrangements and designs for the people who have a cosmopolitan outlook.
He follows the policy, 'Good design should express ones individuality/personality and not that of the designer so that one can make ones own individual statement of style and fashion and not the other way round.'
The designers mixes cultures and genres - street, traveler, punk or newyork, forming an evolutionary blend of style for a neopolitan dappe, while his ergonomically engineered styling with more stress on comfort than on embellishments echoes sophisticated simplicity that renders an evolved form of elegance.
The label is internationally retailed at select boutiques in Singapore and in India it is being sold at Ensemble New Delhi and Mumbai, Mélange, Mumbai, Ffolio, Bangalore, Elahe, Hyderabad, Elan, Ahmedabad, Little India and Burlington's Kolkata.
