Anjali Kalia

A Delhi based design graduate from NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology), Anjali Kalia designed skills has evolved to reflect India on its path of constant growth and evolution and her clothes are graceful with a subtle touch of joy and celebration.

The designer was awarded the CMAI (Clothing Manufacturers Association of India) Award for the 'Most Creative Collection' for her graduate collection in 1995. She was also the founder designer for Maya, a label catering to the contemporary Indian women from 2003 to November 2004.

Anjali through her design has maintained a balance between Indian Aesthetics and contemporary demands as her designs are always relates to simplicity and purity.

She has been associated with the prestigious Sanskriti Kendra since the past three years, where she has been documenting old Indian textiles and also conducting a series of Design Development Workshops for traditional craftsmen, to make their products suitable for contemporary markets.

She has also been a member of the Crafts Council of India, and has been involved in various workshops to enhance the design potential of indigenous crafts and has also done documenting old Indian textiles in associated with the prestigious Sanskriti Kendra.
