Arjun Saluja

A graduate in fashion and merchandising from the College of Textiles and Science (Philadelphia), Arjun Saluja has launched his label 'Rishta' inspired by nature in 2005. The label is for a woman with a sense of style and one who puts together her own statement with an array of different elements.

Formally trained in fashion, Arjun Saluja was visual merchandiser with Armani Exchange in New York.

In town for the Med Mosaic night at Olive Beach, Saluja presented Rishta 2006, his fall winter collection inspired by the sumptuous, strong and androgynous womanhood of the Victorian Era. The fabrics were opulent and far from uncomfortable to the touch.

The designer is no stranger to high fashion as he has shown at the New York fashion week for five years. However, the debut in India at the fashion week had the requisite oohs and aahs.

His collection, Rishta, has retailed at Henri Bendel, Barneys, Anthropologie and various high-end boutiques like Tootsie as with the brand, the designer has expressed his emotions and feelings inspired by his personal relationships and travels between New York and New Delhi.

Bazaar (Spain), Vogue(UK), and Lucky(US) and on this end Elle Magazine (lndia) have given a heads up and highlighted him as one of the hottest designer of 2006 coming out of lndia as the collection received a positive response last time around.
