Gayatri Khanna

After finishing her undergraduate degree in a business background at Babson College in Boston, Gayatri Khanna has been providing embroidery and detailing for years for global couture fashion houses like Versace, Christian Dior, Escada, Balenciaga, Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Givenchy, to pręt collections like Ralph Lauren, Elie Tahari, Anna Sui etc.

Initially, Gayatri would come to India and get things embroidered by individual karigars and suppliers. But in May 2000, she started Milaaya Embroideries in New York with two more offices set up in Paris and India, Milaaya became a global venture. It further attracted an elite clientele of design houses like Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Versace etc.

After the commendable success of her stunning launch collection- 'GAYATRI' in December 2006, Gayatri Khanna has taken on the international fashion world, while her collections are available at exclusive designer boutiques in major Indian metros.

The close relative of actor Vinod Khanna, Gayatri is a Mumbai based designer and has offices in New York and Paris. Earlier after finishing her undergraduate degree, she has started working as a buyer at Saks Fifth Avenue in 1999.

The designer offered breathtaking evening clothes in chiffon and satin, while depending on the style and fabric and how they are accessoried, capris can be worn to the fussiest nightclub as well as an ultra-casual outing.

The summer collection, called Cosmic Collection, transforms celestial bodies into chic silhouettes of gold and silver fabric with Swarovsky highlights as she emphasis on styling and fabrics.
