The known star in the world of couture fashion design, Giovanni Cavagna has mastered the secrets of his first love, knitwear and has created a new dimension of dressing with fine threads of the world's most precious metal – platinum.

The designer entered the world of fashion design at a very young age. But in July 2004, he imposed his creative style starting with his own fashion show in Rome with a Haute Couture Line and a most successful presentation of a limited series of Jewel Dresses in Platinum yarn.

The dress exudes elegance and style in a timeless, classic way and is the end result of a fusion of Giovanni Cavagna’s creativity with an innovative new yarn developed by Lineapiu Group, the leading materials producer, renowned for their originality.

The collection presented at Lakme Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2007-08 was a marvel in knit with his expertise, as he manipulated the yarns into unbelievable moulds and drapes.

Starting with a classic draped one-shoulder jersey gown, Giovanni moved into more intricate territory of design with a tasseled black halter shawl tunic, while inspired by India, his sari like draped gown was a tricky piece of garment construction.
