A graduate of fashion design from FIDM San Francisco (California), Kaushie Adiseshan has studied fashion, fine art, photography, the piano, Indian classical dance and is inspired by colors and textures of fabrics from around the world.

Tthe Mumbai-born California-based designer has presented her label Pink Elf in one label, two fabrics and three inspirations of Euphoria, Rapture and Bliss Kaushie at the Lakme Fashion Week. Earlier, she has shown her debut collection at San Francisco Fashion Week in August 2006.

The designs blend the languid elegance of Hollywood’s film noir with the energy of Bollywood dance numbers, while the spirit of a city combined with the beautiful glamorous world as she feels that looking fabulous shouldn’t be hard work.

Kaushie says her real muse is fabric and every artist has her canvas; mine is the human body and my medium is fabric of different colours and textures.

The designer is the founder and designer of Pink Elf, a company that creates contemporary women’s apparel and accessories, while her creations combine avant-garde artistry, traditional workmanship, and carefully selected fabrics of the highest quality from around the world.

Before founding Pink Elf, Kaushie designed special occasion clothing for private clients. Pink Elf is based in Palo Alto, California.
