Manoviraj Khosla

The young designer from Bangalore, Manoviraj Khosla has studied fashion at the American College in London and has mellowed over the years both in temperament and design. His collections are aimed at anyone between 17-60 years old and is a very wearable line of clothes for both men and women.

Manoviraj started his Studio in 1990 with men’s wear and then gradually moved on to include women’s wear as well. The studio takes up couture and prêt orders for both men and women and also has an exquisite collection of ready to wear garments: formal, casual, party wear and wedding trousseau.

All the garments in the studio have the Manoviraj Khosla signature style: trendy and hip. He designed a line of sporty clothes under the Kingfisher label. His line consists not only of men’s wear and women’s wear but also a stylish range of foot wear. The Manoviraj Khosla line is a range of serious clothing while the Kingfisher line comprises trendy and sporty ensembles.

He has also designed uniforms for many corporate houses, restaurants, bars, hotels, schools and airlines. He designs both Indian and Western styles, and experiments with cut and fabrics, while fabrics such as lycra and synthetic knits are used for Indian women's wear, which gives the clothes a more International feel. On the other hand, Indian men's wear - kurtas, sherwanis or bandhgala, are all done with minimal embroidery work.

Western wear for both men and women are in variety of fabrics and styles, catering to teens and older connoisseurs…in keeping with Khosla's own sense of style. Manoviraj concentrates more on the style and cut rather than embellishments and likes to do so by using the best possible fabrics as the variety is a hallmark of his work.

Currently, there are two Manoviraj Khosla stores in Bangalore and one in Calcutta. The Manoviraj Khosla garments are also retailed through several high end boutiques in other cities.
