Rahul and Firdos

The graduates from National Institute of Fashion Technology (New Delhi), Rahul Mishra and Samar Firdos with their design philosophy to blend beautifully creates simple and functional designs that adapt the classicism of the natural to the contemporary design.

Rahul is the first Indian to win a scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies in fashion design at Instituto Marangoni Milan and the outstanding performance in fashion has won him the award for 'Best Student Designer Of The Year 05'. He also won the Fiesta Italiana Fashion Design Talent Contest, was a finalist for 'Wow, New Zealand', and won the 'Pride of NID' award.

On the other hand, Samar's exploration of new avenues of fashion in apparel and textile won him outstanding performance at NIFT and the 'Kimaya Fashion Award 05.' He has worked closely with international designers including Marian Clayden and Yoshiko Wada.

The designers, who owns an Ahmedabad label, Rahul & Firdos tapped business opportunities from Linda Mahmood, Adelyn Retail Consultancy, style De Vie, Klimt & Me, Pot LucProductions, Island Home, Shenako Desins and others

During Lakme Fashion Week in April 2006, the duo presented their collections in the Gen Next section and got a standing ovation from the audience. The collection for Spring/Summer 2007 titled 'SHEEN Unseen' was an amazing feat of Indian craftsmanship that is difficult to achieve as it had a rich textile base specially created where the engineered fabrics in pearly shades of ivory, ecru and pale pink and blue with horizontal stripes at the hem, were just the right weight for elegant cocktail dresses.
