Vijay AroraVijay Arora did his MBA from Cornell University, USA and his first collection was in 1993, which was a range of men's kurtas and churidars and by 1994 end, the transition was made as women loved the men's kurtas and wanted them to be made feminine. The designer duo feels that the far eastern design school is a source of inspiration to international fashion and the collection is free in flow yet fitted in form, soft in feel and subdued in sheen concentrating on embroideries, textures and sheen The menswear finds an important platform in the collection, as the designers create cool co-ordinates for men and following the path of traditionalism they retain the pristine silhouette of the choga, the achkan and the kurta. The love affair with the oriental was evident in the Chinese collars, oriental buttons and interesting necklines reminiscent of the far east. Further, the women's wear is an extension of their ethnic male line as their label 'Anant' retailed from their personal store at Greater Kailash II in Delhi and from Ensemble in both Bombay and Delhi. The label is synonymous with 'perennial' in sanskrit and in sync with their philosophy: to style ensembles that are evergreen, aesthetic, esoteric & timeless and the look is always sophisticated: either understated or strong & making an impact in a controlled way.
